Dud: Quinton Byfield, C
The offensive struggles on that end of the ice for the Kings and the top-six forward line group persisted yesterday on the ice for Quinton Byfield in the zone for the team. The Kings are finally fully healthy and pushing the storyline offensively on that end of the ice, which resulted in the six-goal outburst in the game's second and third periods on the scoreboard yesterday.
LA had five different players register at least a goal on the stat sheet last night on home ice in the dominant 6-0 win against Chicago in the game's final 40 minutes.
Yesterday was the first time this past week in early December this month that Byfield has not registered multiple scoring chances or at least a couple of high-danger scoring chances in a game for the Kings offensively.
Byfield finished up yesterday's game in the win over the Blackhawks on home ice for the Kings with two shots on goal, a blocked shot, and a 50 percent faceoff percentage for the team. He registered a couple of defensive and neutral zone turnovers early in the game yesterday in the first 40 minutes in the first and second periods on the ice.
I don't think this was a bad game necessarily for Byfield. But I would've liked to see Byfield make more plays offensively and take advantage of his playmaking and skills with the puck on his stick to create more high-scoring and high-danger opportunities for the Kings around the net in the offensive zone this regular season on home ice for the team.
