The Los Angeles Kings (13-8-7) and head coach Jim Hiller got a much-needed offensive outburst in a dominant 6-0 win over the Chicago Blackhawks (12-10-6) on home ice yesterday night (Dec. 6) at Crypto.com Arena in back-to-back games against the same team in the West. This game was a mauling for the Kings against Chicago in the second of two straight games yesterday on home ice vs. the Blackhawks.

Multiple goals and points from Brandt Clarke gives the Los Angeles Kings offense a massive 6-0 dominant victory over Chicago at home this weekend

It's hard to overstate how crucial it was for Hiller and the Kings to not only outscore the Blackhawks and control the momentum on the ice in the offensive zone, but also to physically outplay Chicago yesterday. The Kings also got a power play goal on special teams on the 5-on-4 man advantage yesterday vs. Chicago and goalie Spencer Knight.

The shots on goal and scoring chances don't tell the whole story of how much the Kings and the forwards controlled the pace of play on the ice and the momentum on the scoreboard yesterday in the game's final period vs. Chicago.

On the other end of the ice yesterday, the Kings shut down the Blackhawks completely. The Kings allowed under 20 shots on goal and barely over a dozen scoring chances for the Blackhawks yesterday night.

LA beat Chicago in high-danger scoring chances by a double-digit margin, with 13 for the Kings to just a handful of three for the Blackhawks last night on home ice (per Natural Stat Trick).

Defensemen Brandt Clarke and Drew Doughty and forward Alex Turcotte all registered multi-point games last night to contribute to the Kings' 6-0 mauling of the Blackhawks from Chicago on home ice. The Kings got going after a quiet start to the game's first period to win the game's final 40 minutes on the scoreboard by a margin of a whopping six goals yesterday vs. Chicago.

Here are two studs, and one dud, from the Kings' dominant six-goal shutout win vs. Chicago at Crypto Arena on home ice on Dec. 7.

Stud: Brandt Clarke, D

The biggest star shining for this win by a margin of six goals while shutting out the Blackhawks for the Kings was Clarke on the blue line for LA. Clarke registered two of the six goals for the Kings in yesterday's game, including back-to-back goals in the game's second and third periods on the scoreboard to secure the win for LA last night on home ice.

Clarke was good for the Kings' power play unit on special teams on the blue line on the top two units yesterday, as LA broke the goalless streak with the 5-on-4 man advantage with Andrei Kuzmenko's goal in the game's second period to put the team up by multiple goals on the scoreboard.

Not only was Clarke really good on the goals he scored for the game's third and fourth goals for the Kings yesterday, but he made witty defensive plays on that end of the ice for LA to score the fourth goal in the third period in the final frame.

No Kings' defenseman has arguably been better in wins for the team this regular season in the West than Clarke. In the Kings teams' 13 wins this regular season in the past few months, Clarke has registered an impressive five goals (including two game-winning goals), four assists, and nine total points. He also has a +10 plus/minus in the team's a little over a dozen wins this regular season.
