Stud: Anton Forsberg, G
It was extremely impressive to see Forsberg go back-to-back for the Kings on two straight nights against the Panthers and Lightning in Florida late this week. Forsberg made some really big saves in the game's first two periods to hold the Kings in the game on the scoreboard in the first 40 minutes yesterday.
Forsberg stepped up when it mattered on the road to round out this three-game road trip in the East late this week for the Kings in the Sunshine State in the past couple of days. He saw over 30 scoring chances and double-digit high-danger scoring chances in the zone from the Lightning yesterday, while allowing just one goal for Tampa (per Natural Stat Trick).
"They give us a chance to win every night, whether it’s Darcy or Forsberg, or somebody else, it’s awesome to have those guys back there and tonight was one of those nights, it’s was going to be a grindy game. Last game of the road trip here, and we’re almost at Christmas, so these are hard games and Forsy came to play right away, and I think we responded quite well and just got the job done tonight. The Kings are definitely one of the best defensive teams in the league in the NHL. This team has been good down the stretch in the final stretch run in games this regular season in the West, holding one and two goal leads on the scoreboard in this past couple of months defensively in front of Forsberg and Darcy Kuemper in net.

I would be remiss if I didn't mention the insane save that Forsberg made late in the game's first period yesterday against the Lightning in the opening frame. Forsberg kept the Lightning lead at just one goal and gave the Kings' a much-needed boost of energy offensively in the second period in the middle frame.
