Led by goalie Anton Forsberg in net for the Los Angeles Kings (10-5-4), head coach Jim Hiller's squad topped Drake Batherson and the Ottawa Senators (9-6-4) by a score of 1-0 on Saturday evening (Nov. 15). The Kings notched their second shutout win in as many weeks this fall in early-to-mid November against the Senators in Ottawa.

Alex Laferriere continues his goal-scoring streak for the Los Angeles Kings in a hard-fought 1-0 win over Ottawa

Forsberg carried the Kings over the line this evening for the team's sixth straight win on the road this fall, and the fourth win to start this six-game road trip in the East. The Kings have to be happy with the fact that they came away with six out of a possible six points in the past three games in this three-game stretch north of the border in Canada late this week.

Hiller and the Kings have been finding their rhythm defensively in the past few games this week, especially in this road trip win streak for the team in the past couple of weeks.

The win over the Senators this evening officially moves the Kings into first place in the Pacific Division standings for the first time this fall.

It wasn't all positive news for Hiller and the Kings tonight, though, in the 1-0 shutout win over Ottawa. Hiller and the Kings lost defenseman Drew Doughty to a lower-body injury that he suffered in the middle of the game tonight against the Senators in Ottawa.

Here are two studs, and one dud from the Kings 1-0 shutout win over the Senators on the road in Ottawa on Nov. 15.

Stud: Alex Laferriere, W

In the past four games, winger Alex Laferriere has scored a point-per-game pace for the Kings to start this six-game road trip in the East in the past week for the team. Laferriere has registered either the game-tying or the game-winning goal for the Kings in the past two games against the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Senators in Ottawa.

Laferriere continued his goal-scoring streak for the Kings tonight against the Senators in the 1-0 shutout win on the road in Ottawa at the Canadian Tire Centre. This is as clutch as we've seen Laferriere play early this regular season for the Kings this past week in the six-game road trip.

For the second game in a row, Laferriere got a nice tip-in goal in front of the net in front of the goalie for the Kings. Quinton Byfield took advantage of the sloppy play from the Senators' defense in their own zone to set the tone on the scoreboard in the game's first period, giving a nice pass to set up the tip-in goal from Laferriere in front of the net.

In the Kings' past 13 games, Laferriere has five goals and 10 total points. He's helped the Kings rise up the standings in the West in the Pacific Division in the past couple of weeks this fall, as the team has won nine of its past 13 games.
