The game's only goal on the scoreboard from Panarin early in the game in the opening frame in the first period wound up being the eventual game-winning goal on the ice for the Kings yesterday in the Pacific Division vs. the Oilers. Forsberg had another impressive performance defensively in the zone for the Kings in the Pacific Division yesterday, stopping all 27 shots he faced vs. Edmonton and McDavid.

Defensively, the Kings played well on the blue line and in front of Forsberg in the net yesterday vs. Edmonton in the Pacific Division. Forsberg helped deliver one of the more impressive and standings wins of this regular season in the West down the stretch on home ice at Crypto.com Arena for the Kings in this past few months in the 2025-26 campaign.

The Kings played well on the boards and with their physicality in this game defensively in the zone. Forsberg got some nice play from the defense on the blue line yesterday on the ice in the zone. Defenseman Cody Ceci helped to keep the score at 1-0 on the scoreboard in favor of the Kings in the opening frame in the first period yesterday.

"Just seeing the guys, like the way they they’ve taken hits. They came hard on the forecheck. They were hitting, I don’t know how many times they hit back there and he was just taking the hits and skated on. They were boxing out for me to see the puck. They’re taking the fight in front of the net for me, and then on top of that, blocking shots. So this group, has come a long way, and we got to keep building."

There were opportunities defensively that the Oilers had in the zone yesterday, but the Kings were there in front of the net in front of Forsberg and the goalie helped to clean those up on the ice. Turnovers didn't cost the Kings as much as they have before in the neutral zone vs. Edmonton yesterday.
