There wasn't much in the game yesterday between the Kings and Mammoth to tell for how good the power play unit was yesterday. Andrei Kuzmenko, Anze Kopitar, and the Kings' top power play unit on special teams only got one opportunity on the 5-on-4 man advantage yesterday in the first period.

The Kings' special teams on the power play have been a major issue early this regular season. It's difficult to tell how good the Kings power play was with the 5-on-4 man advantage on special teams yesterday. There were a couple of scoring chances on the one power play opportunity the Kings had yesterday in the offensive zone.

But the Kings have struggled on the power play on special teams, leading to the Mammoth winning the special teams battle on the ice yesterday in Utah.

In the game's second period in the middle frame, the Mammoth cut into the Kings' lead on the scoreboard on the power play on special teams after an interference penalty assessed to Kuzmenko early in that frame yesterday.

With under 10 minutes remaining in the game on the scoreboard yesterday, Kuzmenko had only under eight minutes in time on the ice vs. Utah. He was pretty much done with playing time for Hiller and the Kings yesterday before the third period was done in the final frame.
