Stud: Alex Laferriere, W
No other Kings' player yesterday saw a bigger prize and standard on the stat sheet for their play in the offensive zone and on both ends of the ice last night than Laferriere in the game's opening two frames. Laferriere did a nice job of finding good opportunities offensively to capitalize and help the Kings build a significant lead on the scoreboard and harness momentum on the ice yesterday.
The game's first star last night for the Kings in the five-goal win over the Ducks in the Pacific Division yesterday was Laferriere. The 24-year-old winger had his first career hat trick with the three goals he scored vs. the Ducks last night.
"I thought we came out, as a whole and as a line, we came out good in the first period and we were really moving the puck well, we were spending a lot of time in their zone and you just kind of want to build off the first couple shifts and then we were able to get on the board, actually scored four. That was good, Maybe a little bit of a lethargic second period and not the way we wanted to play and then came back in the third again."Kopitar on Laferriere
I think that no player has done more to surpass expectations from this past preseason in the West this fall this regular season for the Kings and Hiller than Laferriere offensively. Last night saw him make a lot of important plays and convert on both sides of the ice in a big way for the Kings in the West.
Laferriere stole the show for the Kings last night vs. the Ducks on home ice. He answered the call when the Kings and Hiller needed more goal scoring in the offensive zone with a career night vs. the Ducks last night.

Laferriere joined Kempe as the only two Kings' players in the history of the LA franchise with hat tricks against the Ducks in the Pacific Division in the past few years in the 2020s decade.
