Dud: Cody Ceci, D
Defenseman Cody Ceci registered his sixth assist and seventh total point of this regular season for Hiller and the Kings on the blue line for the team. Ceci registered one of the assists on the eventual game-winning goal by Moore in the offensive zone vs. the Ducks in the game's first period in the opening frame yesterday.
Yesterday's game for the Kings in the offensive zone looked like a much different team than what we've seen from LA and Hiller on special teams on the power play in the past couple of months in the West. The Kings looked crisp moving the puck on special teams on the power play and the penalty kill on home ice last night vs. the Ducks in the Pacific Division.
Anaheim had multiple power play opportunities on special teams yesterday. The Kings held a Ducks team that ranked first in the Western Conference in goals offensively yesterday to just one goal and just 11 high-danger scoring chances in the zone (per Natural Stat Trick).
He played the fewest minutes in time on the ice for Hiller and the Kings' defensive core group yesterday against the Ducks on home ice, playing just under 18 minutes. Ceci also didn't get any run on the ice yesterday on special teams on the penalty kill vs. the Ducks in the Pacific Division.
In this past week, Ceci had played at least one shift in the past couple of games in the West on special teams on the penalty kill. Ceci and the Kings didn't allow any goals on the penalty kill on special teams when he was on the ice for the defensive unit on the blue line this past week in the West.
