Jim Hiller and the Los Angeles Kings (8-5-4) continued their dominance in recent years in the 2020s decade against the Montreal Canadiens (10-4-2) in the regular season series. The Kings won their ninth in a row against the Canadiens, and their fourth game in a row on the road this regular season for LA.

Multiple points from Quinton Byfield and Joel Edmundson delivers the Los Angeles Kings a four-goal win over the Canadiens

The Habs got the scoring started in this game in the opening frame, on a nice shot by Josh Anderson that beat goalie Darcy Kuemper in the first period. But that's all the Habs would get tonight against Kuemper and the Kings.

Quinton Byfield scored two points and one goal in the game's first period to respond to the Habs quickly and give the Kings the lead on the scoreboard for the first time. Joel Edmundson also had a goal in the game's first period, which tied things up for the Kings at the time in the opening frame.

The Kings never looked back, as the team was able to take advantage of some bad plays by the Habs in their own zone and got some pucks past Sam Montembeault in the first and third periods to seal the win.

Joel Armia scored a goal against his former team to give the Kings an insurance marker in the final frame in the third period tonight. Warren Foegele put the game away with an empty-net goal in the third period to get the 5-1 win on the road for the Kings.

Here are two studs, and one dud from the Kings' dominant 5-1 win over the Canadiens on the road at the Bell Centre on Nov. 11.

Stud: Quinton Byfield, C

While he hasn't played all that many games in his career against the Habs with the Kings in LA, Byfield has dominated Montreal in the 2020s decade. He's scored three goals and 10 total points in just six games played against Montreal in the past five years (since the 2021-22 season).

I thought this was Byfield's most complete game on both ends of the ice that we've seen from him for the Kings in the past few weeks. He scored multiple points in a game for the first time in five games for the Kings.

Byfield's goal on the delayed penalty with the empty net in the middle of the opening frame in the first period wound up being the eventual game-winning goal for the Kings.

He also assisted on the goal by Kevin Fiala that doubled the Kings' lead in the first period to 3-1 on the scoreboard.
