The Los Angeles Kings and the rest of the NHL have not been able to make any roster moves over the past few days as part of the holiday roster freeze. However this shouldn't stop general manager Rob Blake from having discussions about potential trades and one of those discussions should center around Chris Kreider.
The New York Rangers have had an awful season and have already started to show signs they are ready for a full rebuild. They have already traded defenseman Jacob Trouba to the Anaheim Ducks at the beginning of December and right before the roster freeze they traded forward Kaapo Kakko to the Seattle Kraken.
Another player who almost surely will be traded is forward Chris Kreider, who was a healthy scratch on Monday against the New Jersey Devils. A move like this is usually a big indication that Kreider is not part of the Rangers plans and they are ready to move him sooner rather than later.
If this is the case, the Los Angeles Kings should at least entertain the idea of trading for him and if they do, these are two reasons for such a trade but also two reasons to give them concerns.
