Since this past trade deadline in the 2024-25 regular season in the West, the Los Angeles Kings and their front office have been pretty constantly involved in various trade rumors and trade speculation for the forward core group. The Kings are looking for more scoring punch in the top-six forward group this regular season.

Ken Holland and the Los Angeles Kings are reportedly shopping around for an impact scoring forward this season

In the past week, head coach Jim Hiller and the coaching staff have shuffled lines around and moved Joel Armia up to the second line at the wing position. Andrei Kuzmenko was also moved down to the third line forward group, alongside center Phillip Danault.

David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period reported early this week that the Kings are "exploring the market" for a top-six winger early this regular season this fall. Pagnotta reports that the Kings are looking to add more top-six scoring firepower up front to the top two lines, alongside centers Quinton Byfield and Anze Kopitar this regular season.

It's noteworthy that this report calls out winger Trevor Moore as a potential trade chip for the Kings if the team decides to get into talks with another team to add a top-six scoring forward.

"If the Kings part with someone off the roster, left wing Trevor Moore may be a potential candidate. The 30-year-old has just three goals and one assist in his first 12 games of the regular-season, as both he and linemate Phil Danault have struggled to produce secondary scoring.

Moore is in the third year of a five-year, $21 million contract and does no own any no-trade protection."

This piece from TFP didn't mention any particular trade target or team that the Kings have been in trade discussions with early this regular season in the 2025-26 campaign.

Kings' senior advisor Marc Bergevin has reportedly been in attendance for a few recent Philadelphia Flyers games this regular season.

Here are two Flyers players who the Kings could hypothetically target to find a top-six scoring forward on the trade block before the deadline next spring this season.

Travis Konecny

The Flyers have a solid core developing in Philadelphia early this regular season in the Metro Division in the East, including forwards Trevor Zegras, Travis Konecny, Tyson Forester, etc.

Konecny has been a consistent goal-scorer for the Flyers in the East in the past few seasons. In the early 2020s decade, he was a back-to-back 30-goal scorer for Philly in the Metro. Konecny is a right-winger who could effectively flank Kopitar and/or Byfield on the top-six forward lines for Hiller and the Kings this season in the West.

This past year, Konecny represented the Flyers in the 4 Nation's Tournament for Team Canada. He was selected to the All-Star Team in the 2023-24 season a couple of years ago for the Metro.

One potential hurdle to the Kings and Holland getting in trade talks with the Flyers in a deal that involves Konecny is the price of his current contract. The Flyers signed Konecny to an eight-year contract worth around $8.25 million in average annual value last summer in July 2024.

Owen Tippett

The Kings have a couple of veteran forwards at the wing position who are solidified in the top six forward lines this season, Kevin Fiala and Adrian Kempe. Fiala and Kempe are the Kings' goal scoring leaders early this regular season in the Pacific Division.

One winger who could meet the priorities of what the Kings and new general manager Ken Holland are looking for via a trade before the deadline this upcoming spring in 2026 is Flyers' 20-goal scorer ad forward Owen Tippett. After a blazing hot start offensively to this regular season, Tippett was the subject of a lot of rumors and trade speculation this fall.

Tippett is a three-time 20-goal scorer for the Flyers in the past few seasons in Philly for their top-six forward group, including 20 goals and 43 total points this past regular season in the East.
