Could the Kings revisit a familiar veteran option in free agency once again this summer?
Former Kings 2025 offseason signing and veteran winger Corey Perry could be just that this summer. The Kings signed Perry as an unrestricted free agent to a one-year contract last summer in the 2025 offseason.
Perry’s physicality, net-front presence, and postseason experience could still appeal to a Kings team looking to become more difficult to play against in the playoffs.
He also does not appear close to retirement despite playing for more than two decades in the NHL.
A reunion may initially seem unlikely after Los Angeles traded Perry at the deadline, but the veteran winger could still make sense as a depth addition.
Perry’s veteran leadership and familiarity with the type of structure Holland prefers could still make him a valuable low-risk depth option for Los Angeles.
If he's willing to agree to another low-risk and team-friendly deal on a one-year contract in free agency, I could see it making sense for Perry to return to Los Angeles for one more season with the Kings in the upcoming 2026-27 campaign.
