Olympic Fever

Who’s got Olympic Fever? I know I do! Personally I dig the Olympics, because it’s 24-hour intense competition at the most elite levels. I love almost all the events, ESPECIALLY the ones with objective scoring systems. Of course the creme de la creme is the Olympic hockey. With the best players in the world coming together for some impressive games, it’s like having a week (or more) worth of All-star games. But here’s the kicker – THESE All-star games MATTER! The Perfect Run Comes to a Close

It had to end. It wasn’t going to last for the rest of the season (though what a ride it would have been if it had!). But it’s over now. After winning a franchise-record 9 games in a row, the Kings finally succumbed to defeat, losing to the hated Anaheim Ducks in Anaheim. Frankly I can’t think of a worse team to have the streak snapped against, but it’s over and we’ve got to move forward. Approaching Perfection?

OK, so the Kings aren’t perfect. Unfortunately. And they’ll probably lose a road game this season. That being said, we have to appreciate the victories when they get them. Maybe Detroit fans have a bit easier time overlooking small feats, since they have other things to look at. When you’re a Kings fan, and you’ve struggled for the better part of a decade to find something hopeful, you cling to everything. Such is the case with this.
