Kings Best Selection: Dustin Brown, 1st Round, 13th Overall

Before we get started on Brown can we take a second to look at how great of a draft class ’03 had. In addition to the notable selections above, Ryan Getzlaf, Zach Parise, Jimmy Howard, Jeff Carter, Mike Richards, Thomas Vanek, Patrice Bergeron, Shea Webber and several other big time players were drafted that year. Talk about a pool of talent.

Okay, back to Brown. The Kings had three picks in the first round of ’03 and they got it right on their first selection.

Brown has developed into one of the NHL’s best captains, is the face of the Kings organization and has a Stanley Cup championship to his name. Now with Brown signed for the next nine seasons he can add to his resume that has already put him among the best players to wear a Kings sweater.
