Today is a glorious day. A day that seems like a holiday of sorts to most Kings fans. If you have done any browsing across the web today I am sure you know that today is the 25th anniversary of “The Trade”. A term that brings smiles to Kings fans and sends chills down the spines of Edmonton Oilers fans.

It was August 9, 1988 when the Oilers did the unthinkable and traded Gretzky to the Kings, forever changing hockey in California, the United States and all around the world.

Without a doubt Gretzky is the best to ever play the game. He has set countless records. Some of his records are reachable and may be rewrote eventually. But on the other hand some have a good chance at withstanding the test of time.

Here are five of those records that will likely never be broken.
