Also, a group of wounded Marines who recently returned from Afghanistan will be attending the game. If you’re still trying to think of a good holiday charity and you can’t make it to the game but would still like to contribute, you can buy tickets and donate them to our Wounded Warriors so they can attend at no expense to them. Each of these men and women have made remarkable sacrifices in order to let the rest of us enjoy a better world. Their service to our country is undeniably admirable and the proper amount of gratitude can never be conveyed in words. Let’s show our appreciation by giving them a night of fun! Again, go to LAKings.com/Patriots today and order your tickets.
Alright Kings Fans, time to step up and help support our troops! I know; this is not your typical RinkRoyalty.com post but this is a great cause and one that’s near and dear to me since my wife has been active duty Navy for 20 years now. The Patriots Hockey team is invading Staples Center and they’ll be taking on the LA Fire Fighters team immediately following the Los Angeles Kings versus the Dallas Stars game on January 12, 2012. You’ll need to act fast and order your tickets using the link LAKings.com/Patriots. During the game, you will have a chance to win various autographed items (signed by Kings and Stars players). Items up for raffle include shirts, jerseys, sticks, and more! Proceeds from the event will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project, Toys for Tots, and other various military charities.
A brief overview: Patriots Hockey is a Southern California ice hockey team comprised of all active duty, reserve, retired, and veterans of the military. The team was assembled to use our love for the game as a means of giving back and paying forward to the military community who have sacrificed so much for our freedom and country.
Patriots Hockey Team’s Mission: to play a series of ice hockey games and sponsor fundraising events at different venues throughout Southern California, as a means to raise money and awareness for different military organizations/non profits that help service members and their families cope with hardships faced during their time of service.
There are plenty more events where you’ll have a chance to help, including a game versus an opponent to be determined after the Ontario Reign game on Friday, January 20th. They’ll also be playing against the Cal State Fullerton Veterans Dept. and there’s many more games to be announced. The 2012 and beyond tour, if you will.
The many ways to contact Patriots Hockey are listed below. Please check out the Facebook page regularly for updates.
Of course, it you have any questions regarding this or future events, you can always hit me up on Twitter, too.
Tonight, get ready for another round of the “Freeway Faceoff“ as the Kings and the Anaheim Ducks square off for the third time this season. The Kings are 2-0 against their So Cal rivals so far this season and are eager to extend that to 3-0. After making the grueling trip all the way down the I5 (traffic and everything), it would be hospitable for the Ducks reward their guests with 2 points. Anyhow, our friends at Fox Sports West will have all the action starting at 7:00 PM. Be sure to use the hashtag #FreewayFaceoff if you’re tweeting during the game and we’ll see you tomorrow with the recap.
