Dud: Darcy Kuemper, G

It was pretty difficult to pick a dud in this game for the Kings. There weren't any players that really stuck out to me that belonged on this part of the list for the studs and duds tonight.

The one player we picked for the Kings coming out of this win over the Maple Leafs was starting goalie Darcy Kuemper.

Kuemper and the Kings took advantage of the Maple Leafs missing key guys due to injuries, like star forward Auston Matthews and starting goalie Anthony Stolarz. The Kings clearly controlled this game on the ice and on the stat sheet, despite not getting the lead on the scoreboard until the clock showed zeroes in overtime after Byfield's game-winning goal.

This Toronto team really struggled to get shots on goal and scoring chances this evening against Kuemper and the Kings. The Maple Leafs did get some decent chances on a Kings' mistake and some solid opportunities in the game's first two periods, including a couple of goals from veteran John Tavares.

Kuemper made some nice saves early in the game in the opening frame in the first period. He also helped to keep the Kings in the game with a few saves on scoring chances from the Maple Leafs in the middle of the third period in the defensive zone.

The three goals Kuemper allowed came on a couple of loose pucks around the net, and one medium-danger scoring chance from the Maple Leafs in the second period about halfway through the game tonight (per Money Puck).
