The Los Angeles Kings have released the roster for the 2010 Develoment Camp. We here at RinkRoyalty.com are going to do our best to get down to the camp at least a couple days, and hope to see some of you down there. In the meantime, here’s a bit of information that might be appealing. Below is the released roster to peruse. It’s worth noting that the players below with an asterisk are invitees to camp, players who will be fighting for a place in the organization. Typically they all head home empty-handed, but you never know!

Archive for the ‘Prospects’ Category
I can’t take full (any) credit for this list (Thanks to Rich Hammond), but below is the list of players that are attending the Kings development camp schedule. The dates are scheduled from June 30-July 2 at the Toyota Sports Center in El Segundo. As I mentioned before, it’s an enjoyable experience and one I recommend. The schedule for the entire week is below the player’s attending. Obviously the list below will be supplemented by many (all?) of this years draft picks:
Defensemen:
Andrew Campbell – third round (74th overall) in 2008
Nicolas Deslauriers – third round (84th overall) in 2009
Thomas Hickey – [...]
Montreal traded playoff hero Jaroslav Halak to the St. Louis Blues today in a surprising deal. Perhaps most surprising is the laughably poor return they got for a goaltender that almost single-handedly carried the Canadians past the Presidents Trophy winning Capitals and the defending Cup champion Penguins. What precisely did they get?
Lars Eller, a center who might be ready to play next season. They also receive Ian Schultz, from the Calgary Hitmen, who will almost certainly spend at least some time in the minors. Wow, how the mighty have fallen. What kind of terrible return is that? Obviously we’re all [...]
Kings Sign Johan Fransson
Is it big news? No. But it’s worth a quick note that the Kings have come to an agreement with defenseman Johan Fransson. Fransson became Kings property when he was traded from Dallas to Los Angeles all the way back in 2007 (that was the Norstrom deal). He’s been plying his trade in the Swedish Elite League with Luleå HF.
Fransson is 25 years old and netted 11 goals and 19 assists this past season to go along with 26 PIMs in 54 games during the 2009-2010 season. Clearly the Kings management sees him as having some potential, though in all [...]
Checking Out A Prospective King
So I just found out that the NHL Network is going to be showing the Memorial Cup over the next two weeks. Finally — some legit Junior action on TV to enjoy. Not only that, I’ll finally have a chance to see what forward and King prospect Andrei Loktionov is capable of. Now, I haven’t seen him play yet, but I do know that he was a 5th round pick who tore the OHL up this past season (24-42-66 in 51 games), and the Kings’ farm system is woefully thin when it comes to scoring forwards. It is my hope [...]
