Los Angeles Kings mascot Bailey will not just be at the 2015 All-Star game events in Columbus, Bailey will be participating in All-Star activities!!!!

All 26 NHL mascots (not every NHL team has a mascot) will participate in the inaugural NHL Mascot Showdown.  Mascots will compete in a number of events designed to showcase hockey skills and athletic prowess.

It all starts on Friday, January 23rd at 4:00 p.m. PST, when the NHL Fan Fair kicks off.  Mascots will be playing head-to-head in Dodgeball, and Broomball (a form of floor hockey played with brooms instead of sticks) on the NHL Fan Fair Street Hockey Rink.

On Saturday, January 24th, at 10:00 p.m. PST, mascots will compete in the 2015 Mascot Dance-off, which features relay races, a three-legged race, wheel barrow race, leap-frog, balloon relay and tug-of-war.

Later Saturday, prior to the start of the NHL All-Star Skills Competition, mascots will face off for two 10-minute periods for their own mascot All-Star game.  Teams selection follows the old East vs. West format, pitting the mascots against each other to decide supremacy of the conferences.  The Eastern Conference captain is Stinger, the home town Columbus Blue Jackets mascot.  The Western Conference captain is none other than our very own Bailey!!!

After the Mascot game the winning team will be presented with a trophy, and a Most Valuable Mascot will be chosen and presented with a trophy.

“NHL All-Star Weekend is a true celebration of hockey and our NHL Mascots are terrific ambassadors for their teams – and the sport,” said Dave McCarthy Vice President of the NHL’s Consumer Products and Marketing.  “They can’t wait to join in the fun and get on the ice, just like the NHL pros and they’ll be cheering on in Columbus.”

Mascots will be available for pictures, autographs and appearances at the NHL Mascot Clubhouse inside the NHL Fan Fair.
