Three point games suck so much. The two games that had the most implication on the Kings and their place in the Western Conference standings both went to extra time last night guranteeing at least one point for four teams positioned around the Kings, three of those teams in the Pacific Division. The game between the Canucks and Ducks went to overtime with the Ducks eventually walking away with two points, and the game featuring the Sharks and Blackhawks was decided with a shootout and ended with the Sharks grabbing two points in the standings.
At the beginning of today the Kings sit in third place in the Pacific with 56 points, two points ahead of the Canucks and four and 11 points behind the Sharks and Ducks respectively. That five-game losing streak really put the Kings in a hole, but hopefully they can right the ship with this home stand.

Highlight Of The Night
Scoring on a breakaway against one of the best goalies in the world is a hard enough task. Evander Kane did just that with the added pressure of a defenseman taking him down from behind.
