The Kings opened their season with a win last night. They came from behind and forced the game into a shootout where, Anze Kopitar and Jeff Carter scored while Jonathan Quick shutout the Wild, giving the Kings the extra point. Drew Doughty and Carter got their first goals of the season, and Quick got the win. The Kings play again tonight in Winnipeg, game time is set for 5:00PST. Go Kings!

Around the NHL, the veterans of the Pacific Division won out. The Sharks beat the Canucks and the Coyotes beat the Rangers. The Easts’s powerhouses flexed their muscles and the Bruins and Penguins both won their games decisively.
