Predicting The Pacific: Calgary Flames

Predicting The Pacific is a week-long event where we will look at a different team each day of the week and take a guess at where they will be amongst the rest of the Pacific Division come the end of next season. Here we go.

The Flames are moving into a post Jarome Iginla era that will be full of new and unfamiliar waters. However, one thing that might not be so new to the Flames and their fans is the outcome of next season. The Flames have missed the playoffs the last four seasons and that may be pushed to five with the Flames playing in the ultra competitive Pacific Division.

The Flames should not be taken lightly though, they do have some pieces that can do a significant amount of damage if given the chance. Their roster boasts players like Mike Cammalleri,  Jiri Hudler and Dennis Wideman, and with Mikka Kiprusiff between the pipes the Flames may be a piece or two away from becoming a contender.

Now the question is can they keep up with teams like the Kings, Canucks and Ducks? Probably not, but crazier things have happened in the world of sports.

Now if the Flames want to break this dry spell and qualify for the post season they will have to place high in their division. Where do you think they will stack up at the end of the regular season?

What place will the Calgary Flames finish in the Pacific Division?
