Yesterday was a big day for the NHL. It first broke that NHL players would in fact be participating in the 2014 Winter Olympic Games. This agreement was what was primarily holding up the 2013-2014 NHL schedule from being released and becoming official. So soon after that announcement was made the NHL released the schedule for next season. Boy does it feel good to look at an 82 game schedule.

Looking at the schedule there is plenty to look forward to next season, from outdoor games, which there are plenty of this year, to emotional homecomings it will be a dramatic and entertaining year of hockey.
