Previewing the Los Angeles Kings’ 2012-13 season:
West Quarter Final, Game 4 vs. St. Louis; May 6/13, 7pm PST (10pm EST)

It’s not the offensive clinic some would have thought it would be but the Los Angeles Kings and St. Louis Blues are involved in a low-scoring physical series that is turning out to be very exciting in a lot of ways.

Heading back home for Saturday night, the defending champions had their backs to the wall having lost the two opening games in St. Louis. But despite having yet to break out offensively, the Kings got back into the series on Saturday with solid goaltending and even better defense. Now, the Kings look to build on their Game 3 win and hope to tie the series on Monday night in Game 4, hoping to return to the Gateway City having a best-of-three series. Of course, one step at a time.

Should the Kings hope to win in Game 4, they will need to do essentially just what they did in Game 3. While Jonathan Quick needs to keep up his stellar play, the defensemen and even the forwards (particularly Justin Williams) must go all-out to keep the Blues’ onslaught in check and keep them off the scoreboard.

Staples Center was electric following Game 3 on Saturday night and a win on Monday night will only do wonders for the Kings and their fans.

Can Los Angeles even the series and take control of the momentum when the series shifts back to Missouri? We’ll just have to see on Monday night.

Enjoy the game!
