When Los Angeles Kings fans woke up Monday morning, they weren’t just feeling good from their team winning yesterday or the the opportunity to play pranks on family and friends today on this April Fool’s Day but something more. Today, it was announced on NHL.com that Kings’ defenseman Jake Muzzin was named Rookie of the Month for March beating out a very decent class of nominees.
Despite great months from the likes of Chicago‘s Andrew Saad, St. Louis‘ Jake Allen and Montreal‘s Brendan Gallagher to name a few, Muzzin won the honour after scored four goals and adding seven assists to go along with a very impressive +10 rating. While Muzzin has struggled at times on the defensive side, what he’s done right more than makes up for it.
Congratulations on a wonderful month, Mr. Muzzin as his Rookie of the Month is an honoured well-deserved.
Here’s to a great March and a better April.
