Previewing the Los Angeles Kings’ 2012-13 season:
Game 33 @ St. Louis, March 28, 2013, 5pm PST (8pm EST)
After their big win in Chicago on Monday following by their trip to the White House on Tuesday, the Los Angeles Kings look to ride their momentum in the Gateway City on Thursday night as they take on the St. Louis Bluesfor the third and final time this season.
After a 4-1 win back on February 11 and a come-from-behind 6-4 victory on March 5, the Kings go for the sweep of their season series win against a Blues team who, despite losing three of their last four games, are in the thick of the playoff race just two points behind the defending champs in the Western Conference standings.
In terms of performance in their last 10 outings, both the Kings and the Blues are 6-4-0 but the Kings, after being shutout for two-straight games, entered the Madhouse in Chicago and score five goals against the Blackhawks on Monday, coming from behind three times en route to their victory. While it has been a few days since then, Los Angeles still hopes that momentum will carry over against the Blues who are determined to find themselves in the same groove they were in at the beginning of the season.
While he’s not the only player, the Kings do have to watch out for forward TJ Oshie who has registered two goals and an assist in his last three games. Anze Kopitar, meanwhile, is looking to continue his hot streak as he has scored 10 points (three goals, seven assists) in his last 10 outings.
The Kings got their five-game road trip off on the right foot on Monday and on Thursday, they hope to improve to 2-0-0 on their road swing and leave Scottrade Center with a crucial pair of points.
Enjoy the game!
