Los Angeles Kings vs. Phoenix Coyotes Preview

Previewing the Los Angeles Kings’ 2012-13 season:
Game 29 vs. Phoenix, March 19, 2013, 7:30pm PST (10:30pm EST)

Being that they just played on Monday night, nothing has really changed in preparation for Tuesday’s rematch between the Los Angeles Kings and the Phoenix Coyotes, the fourth of five meetings between the Pacificrivals this season.

Despite his shutout last night, it’s expected that Jonathan Quick will not get the start tonight. The Kings have tried starting the same goaltender on consecutive nights before this season and it hasn’t worked out well, although Los Angeles did come back to win of those games. Having said that, expect Jonathan Bernier to be back between the pipes as he hopes to duplicate Quick’s performance last night.

On the other end of the rink, Phoenix’s Mike Smith was pulled after allowing four goals on 22 shots so expect former King Jason Labarbera to get the start tonight for the visiting team.

Anze Kopitar, Jeff Carter and Justin Williams all had great games on Monday as did Tyler Toffoli who in addition to an assist, potted his first-career NHL goal. At 34 points, the Kings currently tied for 4th in the West and will hope to make some distance tonight as they aim to win their third-straight contest.

Enjoy the game!
