Los Angeles Kings Vs. Vancouver Canucks: Waaambulance On Standby

Before Dustin Brown and the Kings take on the Canucks tonight, there’s a few things that I feel I need to address. If Taylor Swift is right and “people throw rocks at things that shine”, somebody needs to polish up the Sedin Sisters for the Los Angeles Kings and prepare the waaambulance! The Vancouver Canucks get on everyone’s nerves. Their fans wonder why. Let me break it down for you in terms that anyone should be able to comprehend:

You have a dude on your team that BIT someone! Don’t give me the league review line, we’ve all seen the replay. Alex Burrows clearly bit the fingers of Patrice Bergeron. Remember the last time someone bit someone else in a sporting event? Mike Tyson ring a bell? That incident was in June of 1997 and people are still making references to it. I get it though. I really do. You compensate for your lack of physicality by doing what you feel is necessary to get back at your opponents, whether it’s legal or not. It’s better to ask for forgiveness than permission, right?

The majority of the team is just as guilty. I feel like the Canucks are one team that would fit right in with a European Soccer League. The falling/diving/acting like you got shot when someone breezes past you… it’s flat-out old and rather irritating. If you’re going to play hockey, you’re going to get hit. If you can’t hit back, don’t cry because you lack the ability. Yeah, you have guys that can put the puck  in the net and they have true God-given ability and that’s fantastic. I love watching a nice play just as much as the next hockey fan. The dramatics, however, need to stop. There’s just no place for that in hockey.
