News & Notes: The Kings are coming off a 2-1 overtime loss to the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday. After killing 45 straight penalties the Kings have allowed 4 power play goals in the last 3 games. This game concludes a 3 game all Canadian road trip for the Kings. They are 1-0-1 so far on the trip. Kings coach Darryl Sutter was generally happy with the first two games:

That’s a pretty good explanation for our start. We got three out of four points in Alberta. I’m all right with that. I’ll take the point.- Darryl Sutter

Expect the unexpected: Kings goaltender Jonathan Bernier was supposedly going to get the start for the Kings in Edmonton, but Jonathan Quick led the team onto the ice in practice and played the entire game. The Kings and Canucks season series is even at 1-1. A 3-2 Canucks win followed by a 4-1 Kings win.

Matchup Thoughts: The Kings will be entering a building where they have lost 8 or the last 9 games at. If the Kings want to make the road trip a success, getting a win in Vancouver is key. Anything less will be just OK. Jonathan Quick will need to have an outstanding game, and the Kings will need to get it done by committee tonight because Vancouver’s great depth. Disclipline is key tonight. The Kings have allowed 4 power play goals in the last 3 games now and Vancouver’s power play is at the top of the league at 23.8%.
