Moment of Silence

I spent the past day trying to figure out the approriate thing to say in response to this horrible tragedy in Russia. In case you haven’t yet heard, a plane on its way to the season opening game in the KHL crashed, killing the Yaroslavl Lokomotiv team. Included in the deceased are former Kings Pavol Demitra and Jan Marek. It’s a terrible tragedy for the sport of hockey, and I can only imagine how awful it must be for the people who knew these players personally.

On our part, we here at RinkRoyalty, and the rest of the Fansided Sports Network would like to show their sympathy by taking a moment of silence on Twitter at 9AM Friday. We will post #KHLMomentofSilence at exactly 9AM on Twitter and follow it with 60 seconds of silence. You are most welcome to join us in this salute, and of course keep everyone affected by this horrible tragedy in your thoughts.

Topics: Jan Marek, Los Angeles Kings, Pavol Demitra, Plane Crash, Tragedy, Yaroslavl Lokomotiv
