Tyler Toffol is an 18 year old, drafted by the Kings in the 2nd round (#47 overall) in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, and he’ll make a few appearances in Manchester as his junior season has come to an end. Toffoli lines up as a center (according to Manchester) and right wing (according to Hockeys Future), and while his height is in question, he’s not a terribly large guy. The Manchester team site lists him at 6’0″ and 178lbs. While that’s not tiny, put in comparison, Azevedo is 5’7″ and 175lbs. A much shorter, but more solid player. Clearly Toffoli dominated his competition at the OHL level, the question now is how will he do at the NHL level.
Toffoli played last season with the Ottawa 67′s of the OHL, netted 57 goals and 108 points good enough to tie for first in the OHL in points. In 23 playoffs games he scored 12 goals and 29 points. It’s an impressive total across the board, and gives many Kings fans hopes that he’ll be able to contribute offensively to the Kings sooner rather than later. How soon do you want to see him in Los Angeles?
