Kings Call Up Muzzin

The Los Angeles Kings have called up… surprise surprise, Jake Muzzin back to the Los Angeles Kings. With Willie Mitchell out for the next 4-6 weeks with a broken wrist, Jake Muzzin will replace him in the line-up. This is not surprising, as the Kings apparently really like what Muzzin has brought to the table in his previous two stints with the Kings. Yes, that’s accurate, he’s had two previous stints with the Kings already, and the season is only 13 games old!

My guess is that he’s an easy fit, since he already knows the system, already knows the pairings, and generally brings a solid level of play to the blue-line. It’s a fine call-up, though I’d like to see a little bit of Hickey, Voynov, or Martinez at some point this season. Hopefully Muzzin can continue his strong play, and help a seamless transition for a defense that has been strong thus far this season.
