Ersberg heading to Europe

Recently demoted goaltender, Erik Ersberg, is expected to join a KHL team after clearing waivers from the Los Angeles Kings. Ersberg would then be in violation of his NHL contract and the Kings will be able to cut ties with him. The Ontario Reign of the ECHL has been called up to fill his spot on the Manchester Monarchs.

Ersberg never really panned out the way the Kings had hoped. He debut in the 2007/2008 season as a back up to starter Jason LaBarbera. In a  year that saw 7 goalies suit up for the Kings, Ersberg played in 14 games and finished 6-5-3 and a team best .927 save percentage.

I always had high hopes for Ersberg. Hopefully he does well in the KHL.
