New Lines For Home Opener

GLENDALE, AZ - SEPTEMBER 15: Andrei Loktionov of the Los Angeles Kings battles for a loose puck with Justin Bernhardt of the Phoenix Coyotes during the first period of the NHL Rookie game at Jobing.com Arena on September 15, 2010 in Glendale, Arizona. (Photo by Christian Petersen/Getty Images)

Maybe the biggest news is that Andrei Loktionov will be lining up with Dustin Brown and Anze Kopitar on the first line. That means Smyth has gotten bumped down to the second line. This seems clearly to be Murray trying to generate some 5 on 5 scoring, and perhaps Loktionov will find some magic. Certainly the team would be stronger if they are able to get scoring going on the first line, and the second line would obviously be better with the addition of Smyth. It’s an interesting move, and one I’m looking forward to watching tonight. How long do you think it’ll last? One period? One game? The rest of the season?
