It’s time. I’ve always loved roasted duck, and tonight will be no exception. Up next for the Kings are a back-to-back series of games against the hated Ducks. One thing is fairly clear, it looks like the Kings and the Ducks will keep up their habit of only qualifying the playoffs in separate years, as the Ducks have crashed and burned their way into an almost certain lottery draft pick. With five games remaining, they’re six points out of a playoff spot, and it’s just a bridge too far. Even optimistic Ducks fans can’t pretend they still have a chance.
It’s over for them.
The only thing left, is to rub their faces in it! It’ll be particularly sweet if the Kings are able to be the ones to put the final official nail in the coffin of these hated rivals. If they’re able to build off their impressive offensive outburst against the Canucks, it could be an enjoyable games for Kings fans. The Ducks are coming off an overtime loss against the Canucks, the team that the Kings demolished only two nights ago.
It’ll be an interesting match-up, and watching Quick to see how he performs after having his first two games off in a row for the entire season will be a telling sign. If Quick is able to recapture his early season form, and the offense is rolling, I dare say there’s nothing for the Ducks to do but get out of the way. As for me, I’m happy to watch the Kings roast Duck any day and any time. I think we’re in store for a good game (if you’re a Kings fan!) What do you think?
